Feelings Flower Competition for Mental Health Awareness Week

To support Mental Health Awareness Week, pupils across the school have been taking part in The Edwin Group's wonderful Feelings Flower Competition.

Learners were invited to design their own “feelings flower” by drawing or writing things that help them feel happy, calm, positive, safe, or supported. The competition encouraged pupils to reflect on their emotions, wellbeing, and the people, activities, and environments that support positive mental health.
We are proud to share that some of our learners also entered the wider Edwin Group competition, showcasing their creativity and personal expression alongside pupils from schools across the country.
The competition links closely to our commitment to pupil wellbeing, learner voice, and children’s rights through the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), including:
  • Article 12 – Every child has the right to express their views and feelings.
  • Article 13 – Every child has the right to share their thoughts and ideas creatively.
  • Article 24 – Every child has the right to good health, including mental health and wellbeing.
  • Article 29 – Education should help children develop their personalities, talents, and abilities to their fullest potential.
The entries were full of colour, imagination, and positivity, and we are incredibly proud of all pupils who took part. 🌼
