Hot Weather Update - June 2026

Important information for Parents/Carers

We will remain open during the current hot weather and are continuing to follow Department for Education guidance. Fortunately, most of our classrooms are equipped with air conditioning, which helps us maintain a decent learning environment for our pupils.

We recognise that some parents and carers may decide not to send their child to school based on their own assessment of their child's individual needs and circumstances. If this is the case, please contact the school and let us know the reason for your child's absence so that we can record it accordingly.

We are taking sensible precautions to keep pupils and staff safe, including encouraging regular hydration, making use of cooler spaces where possible, and adapting activities as required.

Please ensure learners are dressed in light, loose clothing suitable for hot weather and have had sun protection applied before leaving home where appropriate. A refillable water bottle should be provided to support hydration during the day. If any learner is particularly sensitive to heat, please consider this when preparing them for the journey and the school day.

Please be advised that we will review the situation tomorrow and determine whether it is necessary to close on Thursday.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
