Dear Parent / Carer,

You may be aware from media coverage that the NEU (National Education Union) have declared strike action, which will take place on the following dates:

• Wednesday, 1 February
• Wednesday, 1 March
• Wednesday, 15 March
• Thursday, 16 March

The strike is happening because of a national dispute between the unions and the government over pay, and not because of any issues at our school. We are getting in touch to give you as much notice as possible that learning may be disrupted on the dates listed. We’re currently considering several options, and we will let you know ASAP what the arrangements will be. Once we have completed risk assessments, we will communicate with you again no later than Friday 27^th January to inform you of any changes.

In the interim, we would ask that you be mindful of the strike dates. We are sorry about the potential disruption to you and to your child’s education. I understand that this situation may be frustrating. Our Academy remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our pupils and delivering high-quality teaching.
