We are delighted to share that Calthorpe Academy has achieved the Birmingham SEND Silver Co-production Award, recognising our commitment to working in partnership with children and young people, families, staff and the wider community. This achievement was recently highlighted by Stuart Lackenby, Interim Executive Director of Children and Families. 

Co-production means working together to shape decisions, improve experiences and make sure the voices of children, young people and families influence what we do. At Calthorpe, this is reflected in our learner voice work, family engagement and our commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for participation for every learner.

As a Gold Rights Respecting School, this award is particularly significant. It demonstrates how we put children's rights into practice every day by listening to our learners, valuing different forms of communication and involving families in decisions about school life. It reflects our belief that every child has the right to be heard and that their views should help shape the support and opportunities they receive.

This recognition belongs to our whole school community. We would like to thank our pupils, families, staff, governors and partners whose collaboration, ideas and commitment have helped make this possible.
